Someday Somewhere..... Jetey Paari Choley

"Someday... ekdin aami kaauke kichhu na boley.....
Someday somewhere jetey paari choiley....."

'Someday Somewhere...' is the new film from Sanghamitra Choudhury.
Earlier, the film was called 'Ruu' - but the makers have gone for a new English title, with an extended Bangla tag (Jetey Paari Choley) in it, and have even doctored the original material with some digressions, for whatever reasons.
The film stars Paoli Dam, Shaheb Bhattacharjee, Biswajit Chakraborty, Shankar Chakraborty, Debjani Chatterjee, Soma Chakraborty, Soradeep Ghosh and Trishna Mukherjee. The music is by Drono Acharya. D. Dev is the cinematographer for the film. The story has almost half-a-dozen characters travelling together in the picturesque locations of North Bengal, but is largely about the girl named Ruu (played by Paoli) who has an emotional baggage as well as a whole lot more that makes her suffer, the brief respite comes in the form of the Sikkimese local lad Chiring Thapa (played by Shaheb, a tad convincingly) and the breathtaking natural. The handling of the material is unfortunately poor, Shaheb and the visuals are the only reason one can sit through the film. The convoluted screenplay fails to make Paoli create an impact (the voiceover is one of the worst things about it) and the ultimate unfolding of the climax seems juvenile.
