Directed by Riingo, "Jodi Ekdin" (2010) is a copy of the Hollywood flick "If Only" (starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Paul Nicholls and Tom Wilkinson) which was again a reworking of the 1998 film called "Twice Upon a Yesterday" (starring Penélope Cruz, Douglas Henshall and Lena Headey), and, although a copy,
it is somewhat a decent watch as the lead pair of Indraneil Sengupta and Priyanka Sarkar are easy on the eye, as the yuppie couple;
the film has some nice songs and breezy outdoor sequences.Riingo Banerjee had started out his career on the small screen and his big screen directorial debut was the actioner starring Jeet, called "Kranti". Thereafter, he made "Neel Rajar Deshe", "Love" and "Risk", none of which scored at the box-office, though were high on technique, but mostly being uninspired copies ("Love" was a copy of Erich Segal's "Love Story") failed to impress the discerning viewer. I wish Riingo makes sensible, original films and, with his deft storytelling and penchant for enhanced visual quality, impresses us all in a big way with his future projects..... soon...... very soon.
